The 2nd of November 2013 was the Neukölln Nacht Und Nebel (night and fog), an 'open house' of sorts into the Neukölln art scene.
The evening was held in over 80 locations in a walkable radius around the Rathaus Neukölln, in bars, galleries, private rooms (apartments / studios) and shops.
The evening was a lot of fun to go peeking into a wide variety of art styles. It was a particularly great way to get to know the Neukölln district - a district plagued by a reputation for crime but now is the hottest up-and-coming district in Berlin.
The evening's weather was perfect for casual strolling from gallery to gallery - grabbing a few drinks from Spätkauf's along the way. It's important to stay hydrated.
The art included hair in gloves, lesbian interpretive dance wrestling, homosexual phallic dioramas, casts of fists on the wall, single photos for 300 euros each, a book of photos of vans for 21 euros, mixed overlay prints for 90 euros and lots of other weird stuff - it can leave you wondering if the artists are taking the art lovers for a ride or you are a philistine that just doesn't get it!
