Amsterdam Ham

In a previous outing with Claudia's sister in law Marina, it was discussed that there is some amazing ham shop in Amsterdam. She was keen to try it and we were up for it also.

We met up with Marina in Sloten and caught the tram into Amsterdam. We went all the way to Centraal Station as we needed to load up our OV Chipkaart - which without a Dutch bank and pin card means that the main train stations are the easiest to load up the thing using cash. Plus the ham shop is near there.

At Centraal Station we could see the station building un-scaffolded for the first time since 1998. Amazing how long some renovations, or whatever they were doing, take.

With the load up done we went looking for the ham shop.

And found it.

We all got a sandwich at 5 Euros each. Nordine and Marina smartly went for a ham sandwich and thought they were good. I went with chorizo and afterwards thought I should have had ham - seeing though this was supposed to be 'the ham' shop. Oh well.

Marina got some shaved ham to take home for dinner.

From the ham shop we went for a walk through the Jordaan. Unfortunately the weather was crap and made enjoying a walk difficult.

It's been such drizzly rainy crappy weather, so after a drink at Leidseplein we went home.

With nothing in the house for dinner and no desire to go back out into the world to forage for food, we went for the local Patat Zaak fried goodness which is just down the road.

Marina texted us in the evening, she had been googling the ham shop. We had gone to the wrong one.
