A few weeks ago I had bought some concert tickets online, for later this year in Berlin. They seem to do things differently here in that you order first and then get invoiced later. Only after you pay do the tickets get issued. We weren't familiar with this system and due to a couple of unanswered emails we decided to leave the final purchase until we got to Berlin. Which we now are! I didn't want to leave it too long before getting the tickets just in case the events sold out. One of the bands we are getting tickets for has a concert in Berlin on 31 December 2012 but this is already sold out. I was so pissed when I found that out last month.
It was a bit of a walk, but 3 kilometres later we had made it to KOKA36, the concert ticket shop. This is in the area of Kreuzberg. We spent a week in Kreuzberg last year, and even though it was only 7 days long we really felt that we had returned 'home' in a sense that everything was so familiar.
At KOKA36 we spoke with a dude that sorted out our ticketing needs. Two tickets each for Die Ärzte and Die Toten Hosen. Each ticket is 45 euros, so total cost was 180 Euros...pheeeeeeeeeew.
After this was sorted we needed to get some stuff in preparation of the arrival of our dog tomorrow. There is a pet shop another 3 kilometres away and we walked there and bought some stuff. After purchasing we went to a next door discount shop only to find all the stuff we just bought was half price. Pah!

We had had enough of walking with both of us full of aches. We went to the nearest U-bahn and made a snap decision to visit the Breitscheidplatz weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Markets). This is in the popular Kurfürstendamm shopping area and the markets mainly circle the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche. We have been to these Christmas markets once before (15 years ago!) and I recall having the biggest sausage there and was determined to find it.
We went through all the stalls, many sweets, lebkuchen, wooden toys, decorations, hot gluhwein and of course sausages. It felt so late, slowly getting dark and us feeling quite tired that I had to keep checking my watch that it was only 3:30pm.
I looked for the mythical sausage of christmases past but couldn't find it. I think my imagination reminisces in XXL. I had to settle for a half metre bratwurst (3.5 Euros), Nordine had sausage in green cabbage (3.5 Euros) and we both had some gluwein to share (2.5 Euros).
